Geiger Corrections Center Inmate Search

Geiger Corrections Center is Spokane County's lower-risk corrections and community-corrections facility. A Geiger Corrections Center inmate search uses the Spokane County Detention Services roster, the same county system used for the downtown jail. The facility is important for work release, work crews, jail alternatives, and selected custody placements, so users should understand both the county roster and the special mail, visitation, and program context tied to Geiger.

Geiger Corrections Center Overview

Geiger Corrections Center is operated by Spokane County Detention Services at 3507 S Spotted Road in Spokane. County materials place it near Spokane International Airport and former Geiger Field, about 12 minutes west of the downtown jail. Unlike the downtown Spokane County Jail, Geiger is framed in county research as lower-risk county corrections, community corrections, work release, work crews, electronic home monitoring support, and jail alternatives.

The county's facility page gives the Geiger phone number as 509-477-3259. It also gives unusually specific directions: take Exit 276 from I-90, go north, turn left at Will D. Alton Road, and after crossing Spotted Road the facility will be visible. Parking is on the west side of the housing units, and the visitors center is on the northwest corner of the parking lot.

Geiger is not a state prison and it is not searched through WADOC. It is part of Spokane County Detention Services, so the correct public lookup is the county inmate roster. Sheriff John Nowels leads the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, but Geiger custody information flows through Detention Services and the roster rather than a separate sheriff warrant or app system.

The county's Geiger Corrections Center facility page shows the public address, phone, directions, visitor center location, and a warning about mail.

That source is especially useful because it confirms the street location while also warning that inmate mail cannot be received at the Geiger street address.

Geiger Corrections Center Capacity and Population

Spokane County RFP materials list Geiger Corrections Center capacity at 367 inmates and describe the facility as a collection of 1942-era buildings. County FAQ material explains Geiger's role as an overflow facility, but also says it is limited to lower-risk inmates. That limitation is central to understanding Spokane County's detention population because Geiger does not simply absorb every person who cannot fit in the downtown jail.

The broader Detention Services system has a combined average daily population of more than 700 inmates according to the county Jail Information page. A live current-inmate roster snapshot inspected on July 2, 2026 counted 701 entries across Detention Services custody, not a Geiger-only population count. The research did not locate a current official Geiger-only daily headcount, so the page should use the 367 capacity figure and the countywide roster context without inventing a current housed count.

How to Look Up an Inmate at Geiger Corrections Center

Use the official Spokane County Detention Services inmate roster for Geiger. The county's roster page says the roster covers all inmates in custody of Detention Services at Spokane County Jail and Geiger Corrections Facility. It includes Current Inmates, Recent Bookings, and Recent Releases views, plus A through Z last-name filters.

  1. Open the county Detention Services roster and choose Current Inmates for present custody.
  2. Use the first letter of the last name, or choose All when the name spelling is uncertain.
  3. Open the person's name link and compare booking number, County ID, intake date, case number, status, charge text, and VINE link when shown.
  4. Read the Status field carefully. A person on EHM is supervised in the community and is not physically housed at Geiger or the jail.

If the roster does not show the person, check Recent Bookings and Recent Releases before assuming the person is not in Spokane County custody. For sentenced state prison custody, use the WADOC incarcerated search. For federal sentenced custody, use the BOP locator. For immigration custody, use ICE's Online Detainee Locator. Those systems are separate from Spokane County's Geiger roster coverage.

Geiger Corrections Center Address and Contact

Geiger's street address is the place to use for directions and facility visits, but it is not the inmate mail address. The county facility page says mail cannot be received at the Geiger street address. Inmate mail for Geiger uses the central Detention Services mailing address at 1100 West Mallon Avenue in Spokane.

Visiting Someone at Geiger Corrections Center

Spokane County's documented county-facility visitation system is non-contact video visitation through Securus Video Connect. Visitors need a Securus account, photo ID, an email address, and a phone number. The county says applications are screened in about 24 hours, excluding weekends and holidays, and that visitation may be denied, cancelled, terminated, or restricted for misconduct.

Because Geiger houses lower-risk and program-oriented populations, a person's schedule can be affected by work release, work crews, court, or community-corrections programming. Confirm the person is still in Detention Services custody before relying on an appointment or making a trip to the facility.

Mail, Phone, and Money at Geiger Corrections Center

The most important Geiger mail rule is that inmate mail cannot be sent to the Geiger street address. Spokane County directs mail for both the downtown jail and Geiger through the central Detention Services mailing address. Non-confidential mail is photocopied in black and white under the county policy, with the copy delivered to the inmate and the original placed into property. Greeting cards, greeting-card envelopes, and postcards are not accepted.

Cash is not accepted by mail. Spokane County says food service operates as one unit between the jail and Geiger, with three meals per day, more than 700,000 meals annually, and food service support for work crew and work release programs.

Booking, Transfer, and Program Placement at Geiger

Geiger is not the primary high-security booking point. County research says most bookings occur at Spokane County Jail, though some occur at courts and at Geiger. Geiger's central role is lower-risk housing, overflow, work release, work crews, community service, and jail alternatives. County materials connect Geiger with electronic home monitoring support and DUI alternative program support, but EHM status on the roster means community supervision rather than physical housing.

A person may move between the downtown jail, Geiger, court, release, or community supervision depending on classification, sentence status, program eligibility, and court orders. The roster's status and detail fields are the public starting point, but they do not replace a direct call to Detention Services when a bond, visit, release, or program placement question is time-sensitive.

About Geiger Corrections Center Programs

Geiger carries much of Spokane County's community-corrections identity. Research lists parenting, cognitive programs, GED, drug and alcohol treatment, community service, work crews, and work release as current community corrections programs based at Geiger. Jail alternatives navigation also includes Electronic Home Monitoring, Evidence-Based Treatment and Education Opportunities, Jail Alternatives, Jail Industries, and Work Release.

The local setting is distinctive. County RFP material describes Geiger as made up of 1942-era buildings near Spokane International Airport and former Geiger Field. That history explains why the facility feels different from the downtown public-safety campus. It also reinforces why directions, parking, the visitor center location, and the no-mail-at-Geiger warning matter to families and other visitors.

Note: Confirm roster status, visitor approval, and the correct mailing address before traveling to Geiger or sending money.
