Privacy Notice

This notice explains what information may be collected when someone uses Spokane County Inmate Population, how that information is used, and when it may be shared. By using this site, a visitor accepts the practices described here. Public records linked from this site, including records governed by Washington's Public Records Act, chapter 42.56 RCW, remain controlled by the agencies that publish or release them.

Information Visitors Provide

Search Terms

When a name, location, or similar detail is entered into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. This site does not store those search terms in its own records.

Messages

If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and reply details may be kept long enough to respond and manage the request. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Information Collected Automatically

Basic technical information may be collected when pages load, including:

  • The visitor's IP address.
  • Browser name and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when one is available.
  • Date and time stamps connected to the visit.

Cookies

Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand traffic patterns and site use. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some features or measurements may work differently when cookies are disabled.

How Information Is Used

  • To keep the website available, readable, and reasonably fast.
  • To send search requests to the correct partner service when a visitor uses a search tool.
  • To understand which Spokane County custody and records pages are most useful.
  • To identify broken pages, errors, security issues, or performance problems.
  • To display advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.

Outside Websites

This site links to jail rosters, sheriff and corrections pages, court portals, state and federal locators, VINELink, and third-party search tools. After a visitor follows an outside link, that destination's privacy policy and terms control its collection and use of information.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure views, clicks, or activity across websites. That tracking is handled by those partners, not by Spokane County Inmate Population.

Who May Receive Information

Personal information is not sold. It may be received by limited parties when needed for site operation or legal compliance.

  • Search partners that process queries submitted through their tools.
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and technical performance.
  • Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
  • Law enforcement agencies, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.

Security

Reasonable security practices are used to protect information handled through the site. No website, server, email system, or internet-connected service can be promised as completely secure or breach-proof.

Visitors Under 18

This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, a request may be made to delete it.

Data Rights

  • Ask for a copy of personal information held by this site.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion where the law allows it.
  • Opt out of certain processing where an opt-out right applies.
